Don Thompson

In Don?s own words:

In 1948 I was living in Tampa, Florida and on weekends I would go to my uncle?s home in Citrus Park, Florida where he worked at a dairy. It was my uncle who led me to the Lord in June 1948 at the age of 12 at Citrus Park Baptist Church. He was the spiritual leader of the family and set a positive example to follow.

My walk with the Lord between 1949 and 1963 was a period that my Christian values showed very little. However, there were some Christian values that kept me from being completely separated from Christ.

After marrying in 1958 and through the influence of my step mother and my wife I made a public profession of faith in June 1963. Since that time I have grown in Christ, but not as much as I should have. I have been involved in Church Training as a leader and director, Sunday School superintendent, usher and involved in church bus ministry.

Bro. Thompson?s favorite books of the Bible are Luke and Proverbs. His favorite chapter is Luke 15. His favorite verses are John 3:16 and Matthew 7:12?The Golden Rule. My Sole In Sad Exile, and Because He Lives are his favorite hymns.

Bro. Don?s goals as a member of Sanford Hill and as a deacon is to become a more concerned and committed witness for Christ; develop stronger outreach in Sunday School. He desires our Men?s Ministry to developed projects that help church members and other people in need. He would also like to help get a bus ministry going.
